It should be noted that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which has participated as an observer in the NGFS since 2018, has supported the membership of regulatory and supervisory authorities of Asian region in the NGFS including the regulatory monetary authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Georgia and the Republic of Armenia.

The NGFS is a community of central banks and supervisors in which country-members collaborate to share best practices, promote environmental and climate risk management in the financial sector, and mobilize funds to support the transition to sustainable economies.

It should be noted that more than 120 central banks are members of this network including central banks of countries such as the USA, Great Britain, the European Union, Japan, China, Georgia and Uzbekistan.

The purpose of this network is to identify, promote and contribute to the development of best practices implemented within and outside the NGFS members as well as conduct analyzes on green finance.

The membership in the NGFS can contribute to achieving the goals of the Green Economy Development Strategy 2023-2027 and accelerating the implementation of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change (2016).

Membership in the NGFS is expected to increase financial market participants' awareness of climate issues and accelerate the process of sustainable and green finance in Tajikistan.
