NBT’s seminar in Kayrakkum

Seminar “Оpen market operations and foreign exchange policy ” took place in Kayrakkum from 19 till 22 of June 2007. Head of Khujand Branch of the National Bank of Tajikistan Mr.Valiev N.A. noted, that organization of the first seminar in the Studying-Health Center of the National Bank of Tajikistan is the first step in implementation of the instructions and recommendations of President of the Republic of Tajikistan his Excellency Emomali Rakhmon, that he had given to raise standard of education of banking employees during his business trip to Sogd Region.

The lectures were delivered by following NBT’s officers:

Zavkiev Z.- Deputy Head of Open Market Operations Department;

Jonmahmadov K. – Head of Securities Division of Open Market Operations Department;

Mavlonov M.- Deputy Head of Currency Regulation Department.

Employees of the NBT and other commercial banks participated in the seminar in Hojent. During the seminar following issues were studied:

- brief macroeconomic overview and its sectors;

- monetary sector and its link with macroeconomic sectors;

- monetary policy instruments and their relationship with main macroeconomic indicators;

- legislation base and securities market forming in Tajikistan: present condition, basic problems, main tendencies towards securities market development;

- professional activity in securities market: kinds of activity;

- new financial instrument on securities market - REPO;

- foreign exchange policy and foreign exchange regulation.
