Visit to the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent

On November 15, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, together with other heads of state, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent on the sidelines of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

It was reported that the building of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is designed in the architectural style of medieval Samarkand - Herat.

The area of the center is more than 10 hectares. On all four sides of the building, gates with a height of 34 meters have been built, and a 65-meter dome rises in the center.

The distinguished guests were provided with information about the structure of this center. In particular, it was said that the Center for Islamic Civilization consists of research departments, a national catalog of rare manuscripts, a library, an archive, international departments, tourism, etc.

The center also features an exhibition gallery with historical artifacts and works from different periods of history and a large library with 100,000 manuscripts.

The center provided the distinguished guests with detailed information about the contribution of great scholars of the ancient Transoxiana region to the development of human civilization, such as Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Hakim Termizi, Bahavuddin Naqshbandi, and Khoja Ahror Vali.

Also, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, attended the award ceremony of the International Prize “Heritage of Future”.

It should be noted that the International Prize “Heritage of Future” will be held starting in 2025 in the fields of literature, cultural heritage, theater, cinema, music and dance, fine arts, fashion and design, science and education, and digital technology.

The winners in each category will be awarded a statuette, a diploma, and a one-time cash prize.

From the Republic of Tajikistan, Davlat Safar, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, People's Poet of Tajikistan, received the International Award in the Cultural Heritage nomination at this ceremony.
