On September 15, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honourable Masoud Pezeshkian in Doha on the sidelines of an extraordinary meeting of heads of Arab countries and members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran and regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The President of our country Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in recent years in cooperation between the two countries and called regular contacts and meetings an important factor in the development of relations.

It was emphasized that we always uphold the common historical, cultural and linguistic values ​​of our countries.

The sides discussed the current complex and unstable situation in the Middle East and the Islamic world, and considered it necessary to take effective joint measures to maintain global stability and peace.

The recent adoption of a resolution by the United Nations General Assembly, which envisages a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the “two states for two peoples” principle, was welcomed.

It was stated that Tajikistan sees the solution to all crises and conflicts in the region and the world, first of all, in negotiations and dialogue.

A fruitful discussion also took place on other issues of mutual interest.
