Participation in the working dinner within the framework of the Second Central Asia-United States (C5+1) Summit

On November 6, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, attended and delivered a speech at the working dinner of the Second Central Asia-United States (C5+1) Summit in Washington.
The President of our country, Emomali Rahmon, expressed gratitude to the leader of the host country, Donald Trump, for the invitation and warm welcome, and discussed the need and ways to develop cooperation between Tajikistan and the Central Asian region with the United States of America.
The Head of our state, Emomali Rahmon, considered peace, stability and sustainable security to be “the fundamental basis for all economic and trade relations.”
Continuing his speech, special attention was paid to the expansion of economic cooperation, increasing trade turnover between countries, and attracting investment to promising sectors of Tajikistan.
Due to the vast hydropower resources and geographical location of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, stressed our readiness to bolster cooperation with other partners in strengthening the “green energy” sector and its transmission to neighboring countries.
It was emphasized that in our country, taking into account the existing opportunities, special importance is attached to the development of various sectors of industry and energy, in particular, the increase in the capacity of generating electricity from renewable sources. In this regard, Tajikistan’s interest in strengthening and expanding cooperation with international partners in these areas was expressed.
Investment in the extraction and processing of minerals was also named among the promising areas of the Tajik economy.
In conclusion, it was noted that Tajikistan, given its economic potential, can play a significant role in strengthening sustainable production and trade chains through the expansion of cooperation and partnership.
