Participation of Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan in EBRD Annual Meeting, including Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan and Mr. Jamshed Karimzoda, First Deputy of the Minister of Finance

Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan and Mr. Jamshed Karimzoda, First Deputy of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan have represented the Republic of Tajikistan in Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) that was held on May 8-12, 2017 in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Key issues on the impact of the Regional crisis on world countries, inclusive growth of economy, including cooperation and exchange of experience between the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and member-countries have been discussed during the Annual Meeting. During the meeting more attention was focused to Inclusive Growth that provides possibilities for all social class with fair and free access to equal distribution of economical benefits. Particularly, it was noted that for realization of this target – support of Inclusive Growth in region the EBRD will assist its member-countries.

It should be noted that in the frame of working visit beneficial bilateral meeting with number of leading international institutions were held by the representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan, including Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan and Mr. Jamshed Karimzoda, First Deputy of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Particularly, during the meeting with Mr. Suma Chakraborti, President of EBRD and Mr. Phillip D. Bennett, First Vice President of the EBRD, Head of EBRD Customers Service, Parties held beneficial talks for improvement of the EBRD’s investments to economy of Tajikistan. In the course of meeting with Mr. Arij Senussi, Representative of the OPEC Fund for International Development the issues of deepening of further cooperation on public and private sector, in talks with Mr. Yousef G. Al- Bader, Regional Manager of Kuwait Fond for Arab economic development the issues of attraction of investments in energy, tunnel and water-storage basin construction, opening of credit line for agricultural sector were discussed.

At meeting of Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan with Ms. Clay Berry, Representative of US Department of the Treasury the issues of efficient leading of cooperation, support of the Republic of Tajikistan’s position before international financial institutions and development of new Programme of the IMF on financial support of Tajikistan were considered. During the meeting Ms. Clay Berry has expressed opinion on necessity of reform in country’s banking sector in close cooperation with the IMF.

In the course of meaningful talks Mr. Jamoliddin Nuraliev, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan provided with information on current economical and financial situation of the Republic of Tajikistan, realization of reforms in the banking system of the country and projected plans for medium-term, and the issues of granting of technical assistance, attraction of grants and long-term preferential credits to economy, including to banking system of the country, including bank system of the country, maintenance of cooperation with domestic banks for the decision of the problems which are available in bank system of the country also are discussed.
