Regular IMF Mission has arrived to Tajikistan

Regular International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission with the Head of Mission in Tajikistan Mr. Carlos Pinerua has arrived to the Republic of Tajikistan on the 10th of May. The main target of IMF Mission is providing information about the results of the IMF Executive Council Discussion of the Article IV, which was held on 28th of March 2007 in Washington for the political leadership of the country.

At the same day at the National Bank of Tajikistan has held the meeting of IMF Mission with the Economic Team of Tajikistan, consisting of Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mr. Boboev G., Minister of Finance Mr.Najmiddinov C., Chairman of Tax Committee Mr.Soliev H. and Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Mr.Alimardonov M. During the meeting review of economic development took place and were overviewed the aims of the Mission.

During the visit members of IMF Mission are planning to hold a number of meetings at the National Bank of Tajikistan and discuss monetary policy, balance of payments, banking supervision issues, etc.

Members of IMF Mission have planned to take meetings with the Heads and specialists from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy and Trade, Heads of commercial banks and international organizations.

It looks forward that President of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. E.Rahmon will receive IMF Mission. As well the meetings with Economic Team will be conducted.

The visit of IMF Mission will be completed at the 17th of May.
