Meeting with the President of the United States of America Donald Trump

On November 6, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the United States of America, Honorable Donald Trump, on the sidelines of the Second Central Asia-United States Summit (C5+1) in Washington.
The meeting discussed a wide range of issues related to the current state and development of cooperation between the two countries.
Honorable Emomali Rahmon first thanked the President of the United States for the invitation and warm welcome.
Continuing the conversation, our Head of State pointed to the importance of ensuring peace in different regions of the world, and considered the maintenance of security and stability as an invaluable basis for the sustainable development of all countries of the world.
During the discussion of bilateral relations, great attention was paid to strengthening and expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
It was noted that more than 70 companies with American capital operate in Tajikistan. Recalling the progress and results of bilateral cooperation in the field of industry in Tajikistan, including the extraction and processing of minerals, especially rare metals, the parties considered the expansion of such ties to be in the interests of both sides.
It was emphasized that there are many untapped opportunities and resources for strengthening and expanding trade and economic ties and profitable investment between the two countries, including in the sectors of energy, agriculture, transport, science and technology, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies.
One of the important parts of the conversation was the discussion of issues related to the fight against threats and challenges of the modern world, such as terrorism and extremism and illegal drug trafficking.
A fruitful exchange of views also took place on other regional and global issues.
